In response to increased demand for early care education services and facilities, there is growing pressure for lenders to provide childcare facilities financing. Today there are not enough lenders to meet the demand. At the state level there is additional demand for financing local facilities. Come learn how to promote facilities financing within your lending institution, how to underwrite loans and how they may qualify for consideration under the CRA. Hear from local lenders why they developed a program for financing community facilities and how this field impacts the economy in Los Angeles County.
The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in cooperation with Public Counsel and the Low Income Investment Fund invite lenders and other funders, nonprofit practitioners and local government to participate in a discussion of the vibrant field of Early Care and Education. Each year in Los Angeles this field provides over 65,000 jobs and generates $1.9 billion in revenues. Demand for financing is rising. State and local government and business leaders recognize it. Now is the time for lenders to develop underwriting expertise to fund loans in this arena. Come learn about the need for facilities in Los Angeles, the economic impact on the county, successful models of financing, and how loans can qualify for consideration under the CRA.
