Research Project

At the beginning of the International Economic Summit curriculum, students are divided into groups and assigned a country, adopting the role of ‘Economic Advisors’ to that country. Over the following few weeks your group will research your country’s social, political, and economic conditions in order to assess its strengths and weaknesses.

Strategic Improvement Plan
Based upon your research and assessment, your team will take initiative to create a Strategic Improvement Plan. A Strategic Improvement Plan is a set of objectives that addresses your research findings and is used to help improve the living standards within your country. The Strategic Improvement Plan also involves a set of tactics that will help you achieve your objectives at the Summit.

The Summit
At the culminating International Economic Summit, your team will join other teams of economic advisors to negotiate, trade, and debate in order to achieve the goals listed on your Strategic Improvement Plan. You will be awarded points for completing specific tasks and objectives. Those economic advisory teams with the highest point totals at the end of the day are recognized with awards.
