Appoints Three New Directors

Portland, Oregon – The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has appointed Roger Hinshaw, Oregon and Southwest Washington president for Bank of America; Judi Johansen, president of Marylhurst University; and Rod Wendt, president and CEO of JELD-WEN, inc., to the Portland Branch board of directors, effective January 1, 2009.  The board of directors provides the region’s economic perspective to the Federal Reserve Bank’s District board of directors in San Francisco and the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. The Board of Governors uses this information when determining national economic policies and banking regulations.
 
Bank of America is one of the world's largest financial institutions, serving individual consumers and businesses.   As the Oregon and Southwest Washington president, Mr. Hinshaw is the senior executive for business, civic and philanthropic activities for Bank of America in the region.  He currently serves on the boards of the World Affairs Council of Oregon, the Oregon Business Council, Oregon Bankers Association, the Portland Business Alliance, Classic Wines Auction, Inc., the United Way of Columbia Willamette, and he has been a member of SOLV’s Founder Circle since 2001.  He previously served as board chairman for both the World Affairs Council of Oregon and United Way of Columbia Willamette.

Marylhurst University is Oregon’s oldest Catholic University and was recognized for the seventh consecutive year in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges 2007.  In addition to her role as president of Marylhurst, Ms. Johansen serves on the boards of Northwestern School of Law, the Oregon Business Council, Kaiser Permanente, Schnitzer Steel, IdaCORP, and Cascade BanCorp.  Ms. Johansen is also president of the Port of Portland Commission, becoming the first woman to serve in that role in the port’s 117-year history

JELD-WEN, inc., specializes in the manufacturing of doors and windows.  Founded in 1960 in Klamath Falls, OR, the company has grown to more than 20,000 employees in nearly 150 locations worldwide.  Mr. Wendt is the president and CEO of JELD-WEN and also serves on the boards of Oregon Health Sciences University, JELD-WEN Tradition Foundation board of directors, and Roseburg Forest Products, and is a trustee for Willamette University. Mr. Wendt is vice chairman of Sky Lakes Medical Center board of directors and is the former vice chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s Economic Advisory Council.

The Federal Reserve’s Portland Branch board of directors is chaired by James Rudd, CEO and principal of Ferguson Wellman Capital Management, Inc. Other members include David Chen, Equilibrium Capital Group LLC; Peggy Fowler, Portland General Electric; and Robert Sznewajs, West Coast Bancorp.
