Vanessa Yanez is senior vice president and public information officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
She and the External Communications group are responsible for the Bank’s reputation in its efforts to inspire greater transparency, accountability, and public trust. Coverage areas include messaging, crisis, executive communications, strategic partnerships, SF Fed digital properties and social media, media and influencer relations, as well as visual communications and experiential projects from the Bank’s creative and video studio.
An accomplished leader with global award-winning marketing, brand, and corporate expertise, Vanessa has extensive experience in business transformation through integrated communications initiatives. Prior to the SF Fed, she spent six years in global communications leadership roles at HP Inc. and in the decade prior led global accounts at top Omnicom and WPP communications firms advising brands such as Visa, Dell, and Fitbit.
She is active in the public relations and marketing industry serving on national communications award juries. Vanessa served as president of the Public Relations Society of America’s Silicon Valley chapter until 2022 and that year was honored with the chapter’s Visionary Leadership award. She was also named as a Silicon Valley Woman of Influence by the Silicon Valley Business Journal in 2021. Vanessa graduated from San Francisco State University with an emphasis in news and communications in 1994.
