Sum-Yu Chiu

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Financial Management


Sum-Yu Chiu is the chief financial officer with responsibility for Financial Management at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.  As CFO, Sum-Yu directs the development of the Bank budget and oversees all significant financial considerations including financial statements and COSO compliance.

Sum-Yu joined the Bank in 2000 as research associate in Economics Research.  She was transferred to Financial Management in 2002 and has held various roles of increasing responsibility within the team.

Sum-Yu earned a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and a bachelor of science degree in economics from the University of Washington.  She also has a master’s degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
