At an event hosted by New York University Stern School of Business, President Mary C. Daly discussed the progress the Federal Reserve has made in bringing inflation down and the importance of looking beyond a “soft landing,” ultimately aspiring to durable expansion with sustained price stability.
Following her remarks were a moderated conversation with Bloomberg Television’s Lisa Abramowicz and an audience Q&A, moderated by NYU Stern’s Richard Berner. During her visit, President Daly also met with students interested in economics and held a group media interview with reporters from several national publications.

Mary C. Daly is president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. In 2024, she is a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee, the monetary policymaking body of the Federal Reserve System.
