On Wednesday afternoon, more than 300 Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco employees gathered in front of SF Fed headquarters to form a Banner of Love, a human LGBT Pride banner.

The event, organized by the 12th District’s LGBT Employee Resource Group (ERG), was part of a photo challenge among participating Reserve Banks. Additionally, it was an opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied employees to come together in solidarity during LGBT Pride Month.
For many, the moment reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to a welcoming workplace for all employees.
“Having been part of an enormous effort to get the Pride flag flown above the Bank just 8 years ago, it was so rewarding to see so many people participating in the Banner of Love. I really felt like the Bank had my back,” said Enterprise Applications Manager Henry Olson.
After the Banner of Love gathering, business process improvement specialist Elliot Marks commented, “It just felt good to be together with everyone.”
The rainbow Pride flag, raised June 1, will fly atop Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco headquarters through June.
