Bina Patel Shrimali is vice president of Community Engagement and Analysis at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and serves as the Bank’s community affairs officer. In this role, she provides leadership and strategic direction for the Community Engagement and Analysis team’s initiatives focused on understanding the economic experiences of lower-income households and communities across the Twelfth Federal Reserve District, and elevating emerging issues and innovative approaches that promote economic opportunity.

Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in 2017, Bina spent over a decade conducting research and launching projects focused on economic development to improve health for young children and families.

Bina holds a doctoral degree in public health, master’s degree in epidemiology and biostatistics, and bachelor’s degree in Economics and English, all from the University of California, Berkeley.
