Lizzy Mattiuzzi

Research Advisor, Community Development

Lizzy Mattiuzzi, PhD is a research advisor in Community Development at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. She studies regional collaboration and governance around economic opportunity and sustainability issues for low- and moderate-income communities, including housing affordability, poverty trends and services in metropolitan regions, and disaster and climate resilience.

Lizzy joined the San Francisco Fed’s Community Development team as a senior researcher in 2017. Previously, she led the Planning Sustainable Regions research initiative and contributed to the Planning for Jobs project at the Center for Community Innovation at the University of California, Berkeley. Lizzy completed a PhD in City and Regional Planning at UC Berkeley. She also holds a master’s degree in urban geography from the London School of Economics and an undergraduate degree in political science from UC Berkeley.
