Senior Vice President and General Auditor


Shari Novik is senior vice president and general auditor at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. She provides executive and strategic leadership to the Audit function and Bank management, ensuring the San Francisco Fed’s internal controls are comprehensive, effective, efficient, and support the Bank’s strategic objectives. As a trusted advisor to the Audit and Risk Management Committee and the Board of Directors, Shari is responsible for determining whether the Bank’s network of risk management, control, and governance processes are adequate and functioning as expected.

Shari served previously as the interim head of Audit at the SF Fed. A career auditor with deep audit and Federal Reserve System knowledge, she joined the Bank in 1992 and has also served at the Boston Fed during her tenure. She serves on the Committee on Audit Practices, serves as the executive sponsor for the Conference of General Auditors’ Mentoring Program, serves on the Federal Reserve Financial Services and Credit Risk Management Audit Advisory Committees, and is the coordinating general auditor for FedCash Services and Statistics and Reserves. She also serves as the audit liaison to the Research, Banking, Communities, and Communications Umbrella Committee and the Common Data Platform Management Steering Committee. Shari is also a member of the Bank’s Risk Management and Internal Oversight Committees.

Shari earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts, is a Certified Information Systems Auditor, is IIA certified in Quality Assurance, and has expertise in risk and program/project management.
