Stephen DeLay
Vice President and Regional Executive, San Francisco
Stephen DeLay is vice president and regional executive of the San Francisco branch at the SF Fed. In this role, Stephen develops trusted and meaningful relationships with business leaders from Northern California, Northern Nevada, and Hawaii. He conducts a variety of outreach and engagement activities to help foster understanding of the Fed’s work and to glean insights on how different businesses are experiencing the economy. With over three decades of experience, Stephen’s leadership amplifies the Reserve Bank’s mission to build a stronger economy for all Americans.
He started his career as a consumer compliance bank examiner and has held several leadership positions during his career. Stephen served as the Director of the Consumer Compliance Supervision function, as well as a Senior Manager for consumer compliance, the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), and fair lending examinations. Additionally, h e has managed Supervision and Credit’s Quality Assurance and Business Process Improvement functions.
Academically, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School.
